Chain (2008)
In 2008, my first ever solo album, entitled Chain, was released, a collection of rollicking instrumental sets and songs sung in the old style. It’s my hope that this album will add to the well of recorded Newfoundland music and help inspire younger players to keep these tunes going.
Learning the Newfoundland Button Accordion Vol. 1 (2007)
In 2007, DOP Productions released Learning the Newfoundland Button Accordion Volume 1 – The Basics, an instructional DVD for absolute beginners. It has since been helping people from literally around the world learn the accordion music of Newfoundland and Labrador.
The Four Stops (2005)
In 2004 I approached four accordion players from the Northern Peninsula and Southern Labrador with the idea of recording an album of traditional accordion music. I wanted to offer them an avenue to share their music without drum machines, electric guitars, or anything else obscuring it. The four players, Calvin and Luke Payne, Kevin Bennett, and John Marshall were all game, and so DOP Productions was born, with the album, entitled The Four Stops, released in winter 2005.
